NEAS and AMEP accreditation

In recognition of the high regard in which NEAS is held, in 1997 the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) contracted NEAS to apply an accreditation and quality monitoring system to providers of the Adult Migrant English Programme (AMEP).

NEAS receives funding from DIAC to conduct its accreditation and quality monitoring of AMEP providers nationally. However, AMEP reporting and decision-making procedures relating to accreditation of providers remain internal to the organisation.

Through initial accreditation and ongoing performance monitoring, NEAS will gauge whether the expected services continue to be delivered to the appropriate standard over time.

Accreditation and ongoing quality monitoring ensure that only providers offering high standards of English instruction and administrative practice continue to be authorised providers within the AMEP. NEAS works with providers to ensure that a high standard of service delivery continues to be met and improved upon.
