Quality Standards
In close consultation with governments, industry providers and the TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) profession, NEAS has established a set of quality standards and criteria for the provision of English language programs.
The standards set out accreditation requirements in the broad areas of management and finance; learning environment; specialist staff; curriculum and assessment; student services; materials and equipment; and recruitment and promotion. Details of the NEAS quality standards are available for purchase from the NEAS office, or may be downloaded by clicking the ELICOS Handbook link from the downloads page.
Educational Role
NEAS convenes an annual national conference of Directors of Studies of its client institutions. The conference focuses on management issues typically facing Directors of Studies, with the content based on the needs and wishes of the participants.
